A historic estate. A permanent home for sacred medicine.
In the highlands of Ecuador, we are restoring a historic estate into the first permanent temple of Mycomysticism, a sanctuary built for sacred ceremony, long-term contemplation, and deep transformation.
This is not a retreat center. Retreat centers are temporary by design. A temple is built to endure. It is a place where traditions are preserved, where practitioners train, where those who seek sacred medicine can come not for a weekend, but for as long as the work requires.
The estate sits at altitude, surrounded by natural beauty and silence. Its architecture carries the weight of history. Our task is to restore it with the same reverence we bring to ceremony, honoring what was built while preparing it for what it will become.
Castillo de Guachalá is a historic hacienda in the Ecuadorian Andes and one of the oldest surviving colonial structures in the country. The building carries centuries of history and sits at the intersection of two worlds: the Andean highlands and the gateway to the Amazon.
The site was chosen for its natural setting, its proximity to indigenous communities with unbroken ceremonial traditions, and the quality of the existing architecture. It is a place that demands serious work and rewards it.
Once restored, the estate will serve as the permanent ceremonial home of the Temple of Mycomysticism, hosting private programs, extended residencies, and practitioner training, sustained entirely through the Mycomysticism Foundation.
The estate has been selected. Acquisition and first-phase restoration are in progress.
Those who wish to participate in building the temple are welcome to reach out. We are grateful for every contribution that brings this vision closer to reality, and we are committed to full transparency at every stage of the process.
