Cuauhtémoc Eduardo Sanabria Pérez

Traditional Chief & Hereditary Healer · Aztec tradition · Mexico

Cuauhtémoc was born into this practice. Raised in the sacred district of Cuautenco, he was initiated into the mysteries of the elements at the age of four and inherited his knowledge directly from his grandfathers and shaman aunt, both heirs to the Nagual tradition.

He is the carrier of the sacred Teonanácatl mushroom altar, a companion to the Wixárika people in peyote ceremony, and a keeper of time according to the Tonalpohualli calendar. He is the founder of numerous councils of elders and the official ambassador of the Native American Church (INAIT) in Mexico.

His ceremonial work spans Teonanácatl and peyote rituals, sacred dances, and diagnostic practices rooted in the Tonalpohualli calendar. His mission is the protection of indigenous cultures and the awakening of spiritual memory in those he works with.

In his own words: “A shaman is not a person but a being chosen by divine design, marked on the skin, struck by lightning, and sealed in spirit to heal and protect humanity. I did not come to this path. I was born on it.”
